I wanted to write a review for one of the most underrated and best movies of Disney Channel, simply because it deserves more love.

Lemonade Mouth is based on the book of the same name. It's unbelievable how underrated the movie is, considering that I found it overall to even be better than HSM and Camp Rock (And I love those movies, too!)

Despite the cheesiness and subpar acting that are common in most original Disney Channel movies, Lemonade Mouth had a realistic touch to it that the other movies lacked. It dealt with themes such as death, divorce, rebellion, unrequited love, cultural restrictions, and more. Each character had strong and well-developed arcs, making it easy to find yourself in the shoes of one of them. It reminded me of The Breakfast Club but in a musical format. The story also shares similarities with it.

The soundtracks are all amazing, too. In particular, this was the deal-maker for me. I first came across a clip of "She's so gone" sung by Naomi Scott, who played Jasmine in the latest Aladdin live-action movie. I liked the song so much that it made me want to watch the movie.

I like the message and lyrics of most of the songs in the movie. The rhythms, beats and harmonizing are amazing, with a distinct "rock" factor that stands apart from the dialogues.

There were also a lot of moments in the movie which were quite emotional. It made me miss my friends/band. I particularly liked how raw and surprising this scene was:

I share the same sentiment as other fans, and while I may be late to the movie, I still wish that Disney had invested more in this group and its marketing. If they were an actual band, I believe they could have been a big success. All of the actors are musically inclined.

Bridgit Mendler, the actress who portrayed their lead vocalist, is already quite popular on her own.

I also just recently discovered that the actress who played Stella, was actually Hayley Kiyoko! I've always known her for the song "Girls like girls", but never saw her face, so I was pleasantly surprised!

To wrap it all up, Lemonade Mouth is one of my favorite Disney Channel movies. I think it's one of the best and deserves more attention.
