I'm gonna talk about my favorite of all time, The Butterfly Effect. I don't know why whenever I'm asked what's my most favorite movie, I always say it's Pan's Labyrinth by Guillermo del Toro. And yet, now that I've rewatched this for the 3rd time, I realize that it is easily on the top of my list, despite the stunning cinematography of Del Toro.

The Butterfly Effect seems like a complicated film to some, but I believe a rewatch can always remedy that. It's a pretty simple and ingenuine movie. The story is marvelously plotted and the timeline is astounding. The script is also brutally realistic. I'm not going to spoil the movie by talking about its synopsis. However, the main theme of the movie is "time" and I'm a big fan of it. The whole concept of "chaos and butterfly effect" just really speaks to me. I love the concept of time-travelling and parallel universes, so that explains much about it.

I think its crowning glory rests on the raw and shocking events of the main characters' childhood, the effects on each of their personas as they grew up, and how their lives were intertwined from just a few eventful encounters.

Ultimately, it is the ending scene that is the "make or break" of the film for me. I'm a big hopeless romantic and I highly value that scene in the end. No matter how many times I watch it, I'll probably cry all the same. It's one of the most unforgettable endings in a film for me. And if you are considering to watch it, make sure to see only the Director's Cut. A lot of scenes are not included in the theatrical version. AND most importantly, the endings are different. The Director's Cut ending is the most powerful and can change the perspective of the audience on the whole movie itself.

There you go. I'll leave you with this MV (Contains all major spoilers) from its movie soundtrack, "Stop Crying your heart out" by Oasis. Great song.
